Rum and the Moon

Creativity is fleeting
To a simple man
Trying to figure it out
Trying to understand
Deep thoughts, my friend
Can you keep up?
Most of my rum lies in my belly
Yours is in your cup
Yes, drunk we become
Not a word between us
But the ideas, they spread
Much like a virus
Infecting one mind–
I’d rather call it inspiration==
And traveling to the other
No need for desperation
The moon is shining above us
The winter wind is cold
While we are still young
The world is so old
There’s much to be learned
From looking around
I think I’ll get lost
Try not to be found
Do not stop me
I have another thought
Coming with me would be better
Than staying here to rot
